Our Mission
The past, alive in the present
Nostalgia exists to keep Egypt's music living and breathing, far from where it was born.
We aren't here only to safeguard Egypt's musical heritage; many others already do. We're here to bring it closer to home in North America, and to keep it on stages across the continent.
We honour the classics faithfully: Coptic hymns, the golden age of Umm Kulthum and Abdel Halim, the songs everyone knows by heart. Then we go further, with our own fusion arrangements that let the past and the present speak to one another.
The result is music rooted in where it came from and fully at home where we are now, connecting generations, cultures, and the communities who call this continent home.
How we do it
Honour the source
We perform Coptic hymns and the golden age of Egyptian song the way they were meant to be heard, with care for every maqam and every word.
Reimagine for today
Our own arrangements let the past and present speak to one another, an old soul carried by a new voice.
Bring it home
We keep this heritage on stages across North America, for the families and communities who carry it with them.
Our Roots
Four worlds, one stage
Coptic hymns
The ancient chant of the Egyptian church, carried through centuries of worship.
The golden age
Umm Kulthum, Abdel Halim, Abdel Wahab, the voices of a whole era.
Timeless standards
The songs everyone knows by heart, sung across every generation.
Fusion originals
Our own arrangements, where the heritage meets the here and now.
Why it matters
A song remembered is a home that travels. As long as this music is played, Egypt's heritage stays alive, wherever we are.
